Bill and his fiance Dr. Melissa Reeves,are heading out to meet jo to get the final divorce papers because of Jo still in love with Bill,tries to stall because she doesn't want the marriage to end and hasn't signed all the papers then the adventure begins when they receive news that a tornado, is near the dryline,and the team heads out, in the end Bill and Jo finally has enough data to create an early advanced warning system and Jo also Bill decide to get back together again.

The storylines are about Dr. Harry Dalton trying to convince the town (dante’s peak) council to put the town on alert for evacuation because of founding two backpackers are killed in the hot springs by active volcanic activity and also from the evaluation the town’s dormant volcano but they didn’t believe it. With rachel, he looking for more other evidance about the volcano activities, days later the mountain begin the nightmares and make a chaos. As they head for home, they run right into the most powerful storm the world has ever seen. The images in the movie are astounding and will leave you both terrified and in awe of mother nature's raw power.
